J Brand proves that the denim movement toward straight and skinny is hardly a trend. With an absolutely clean, anonymous back pocket and sophisticated lines, these jeans are already a classic set for the ages.
I love these pants, love how comfortably they fit. I am a bit worried about wear, though, as I've worn mine maybe four times since I got them last week (I really do love!) and they seem to be stretching out. (There was a laundering in there, too: cold, hang to dry, nothing offensive.) I don't have a lot of hips to anchor pants up, so maybe that's my problem. I ordered the same size as I take in the Jbrand 10" (in ink), which was 25 (I'm often 26 in other jeans, though, and even sometimes in Jbrand), but I wonder if a 24 would've been better. Regardless, if you're between sizes, definitely order down. Hot jeans, though. I'm so sick of seeing women walking down the street in leggings; LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS! But these are. And are so much better.
I love wearing leggings but wanted some that are sturdier and would last longer without wearing out at the crotch or losing their stretch. I was very excited for these leggings but was disappointed because they weren't quite stretchy enough and weren't very soft. I felt a little bit restricted in them. On a positive note, the pants did fit well. I have a small waist, a curvy behind, average hips, long legs, slightly curvy thighs, and therefore have a lot of trouble finding jeans and pants that fit (as in, 1 or 2 out of every 40 or so pair I try on fit and are flattering). I discovered J Brand Jeans a couple weeks ago, and having since tried a few of their different styles, I can say that it is the only brand of jeans that really fits me. The same holds true for these leggings. They didn't gap at the back, they looked great on (the dark blackish blue color is really nice), were a good length for leggings, they didn't pull weirdly across the front, the rise was high enough but not too high, and they weren't unflattering to my behind, but the feel of material wasn't pleasant enough (nor did it seem high-quality enough) for me to pay that much for them. I recommend their other jeans (get a pair of their skinny jeans if you want a similar look), or even just trying them out to see if the feel bothers you!
