Launched by Lauren Conrad for fall 2011, Paper Crown offers a chic assortment of casual and elegant pieces for the modern gal. The LA-based-reality-star-turned-designer creates garments that blend classic staples with contemporary silhouettes, all of which come together in a collection that is romantic, fresh, and feminine.
First of all, the quality is unbelievable, gorgeous silk, absolutely beautiful print, colors (nude, blush and robin's egg blush splatters on dark navy) and a vintage 60's style. The fit, on the other hand, was not my favorite. It makes curvy women INCHES bigger. I'm not massive by any means (36, 27, 39 and 5'4"), but this dress highly accentuates the curves I already have. I call it my "Joan" dress (from Mad Men) because that's precisely what I look like. I would recommend it highly to women with boy shaped bodies because it will hug you beautifully and add a little sass to your curves (much like the model in the photo.) My main concern was that it was a little tight on my mid thigh, but loose on my hips and created like extra "wings", as I called it, to the upper thigh/hip because the dress is stitched to create the 1960s hourglass silhouette, but lands a little high on me in the shapely areas. Overall, I feel I look a little "fat" in it (because it accentuates and highlights chest and hips), but I have received many compliments on the trendy vintage look, and beautiful 1960's shape it gives me, not to mention, it is one of the most comfortable dresses I own.
