Created by Australian surfers Dan Single and George Gorrow, Ksubi is the result of ideas, individuality, and authenticity. Unswayed by trends, it developed into an underground subculture, an international presence with a cult following. Ksubi, a word to describe the culture of fashion, music, and art that inspired it, is a truly innovative line that manipulates conventionality with high-style results.
I bought the boots but have to return it unfortunately. The color shown in the picture is black and slightly brownish, yet the real color is 100% black to me. I don't really need this shade. The boots were of high quality but massive. I don't have tiny calves, but I can still fit my legs into them without pants (my shoe size is 6/36, and the sizing is true to me). Yet that's not what I was looking for, since I expected to at least fit a skinny jeans there, considering the boots looked quite loose in the picture. This also caused the comfortability problem. The lower part of the boots were loose which is good, but the adjustable buckle is still very tight for me. As the leather is somewhat creased to create a vintage look, it easily rubbed my back ankles, which I assume will cause discomforts in the future. Just for your reference, I am 5'4'' and 120lb. If not for the calves and comfortable problems, I might still keep the boots.
I love these boots but be warned they are massive!!! I am always either a size 38.5 or a 39 in shoes depending on the brand and whether they are flats or high heels. In boots I tend to size up especially if there are no half sizes, as I like to wear thick socks and don't have a particularly narrow foot.Fortunately I was able to try these boots on in a Ksubi store in Sydney and I had to size down to a 37!!! I am NEVER a 37 but these boots are huge. (I wear a 38.5 in Frye Boots). So my advice is to definately size down at least one whole size. Despite the sizing issue these boots are awesome, especially if you like a distressed looking, unique, vintage inspired boot. They are not heavy to wear either and fit closely to the calf. I hope this helps :)
