J Brand proves that the denim movement toward straight and skinny is hardly a trend. With an absolutely clean, anonymous back pocket and sophisticated lines, these jeans are already a classic set for the ages.
I like the look and wash of this jeans a lot as it looks very laid back and casual and the cut is great for wearing flats. A few points I didn't like very much though: First, the sizing was quite big. I am usually a size 25 but for the 10" skinny, I buy 26 to avoid looking like a sausage. I bought this in 26 and they fit a bit more like my 12" Pencil (Ink wash) than my 10" skinny (Ink wash). Second, the fabric isn't as stretchy as the 10" skinny in Ink that I have. I have all of the skinny and straight jeans from J Brand in Ink, and all of them are stretchy, the 10" the stretchiest of all. This jean isn't stretchy at all. In fact, it reminds me of my Levi's 551 skinny jeans. Regardless, it's a lot more comfortable than Levi's. Because the sizing was off, the fit was also a bit weird. I'm short and a bit curvy especially around the hips and butt, but since this was quite roomy and almost not skinny, my butt looks smaller. It's pretty nice around the calves though. Overall, I think this is pretty average compared to my J Brand skinny, cigarette and pencil in Ink wash which are all the most awesome jeans I've ever slipped into. I would really compare it to my Levi's 551 which is a lot less expensive hence a lot more attractive.
