High-waisted skinnies are key to my easy weekend summer style. I'm really loving AG's vintage-y Farrah high waisters with this wispy nautical-inspired blouse by Equipment. Add that floppy hat and I'm good to go for a long champagne-filled Sunday brunch with my gals!

The red carpet was on fire during the Cannes Film Festival. The arrivals, the premieres, the photocalls, the pre-parties, the after parties, the other parties...There were so many celebs in free flowy dresses, it gave me the most insane case of Google ADD. The fresh lacy takes on LBDs blew my mind (Claudia Schiffer, that's you), Naomi Campbell's shortie yellow fringe number was also equally as amazing, and so was the amount of red carpet walks made my Karolina Kurkova. (Um, there were lots.) But let's take another look at Cannes. A casual look, if you will. Men wore khakis, Elizabeth Olsen and Bianca Balti both wore crochet, Zoe Saldana belted a maxi, Milla Jovovich opted for stripes, and Kirsten Dunst wore a little white dress to grab a quick bite. Turns out, Cannes isn't black tie all the time. I'll remember that when I pack for next year. Sike.

We took the hint from a few of our favorite designers, along with some mild convincing from stage starlets Karen Elson, Zooey Deschanel, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros frontwoman Jade Castrinos, that this season's laid-back breezy look arrives in a much more folky form. Not like bonnets and toting water buckets instead of bags, but sweet florals , patchwork, and details designed to look handmade and crafty. Ya dig? So do we. So much so that we devoted an entire magazine issue to turning a little bit country (bumpkin).
