The four collections we viewed today set the floral trend in stone for next Spring. Each (female) designer put her own fingerprint on the universally expected trend for the season -
Nanette Lepore drew inspiration from beautiful toile porcelain,
Milly by Michelle Smith went the sporty-chic route and added some silver into the mix, the legendary
Anna Sui rocked it out in punk attire, and Californian Rozae Nichols of
Clover Canyon took us on a printed road trip involving some cannibus plants and major sequins.
What's the message here? Women who design for women know exactly how we want to dress season after season. As New York Fashion Week comes to a bittersweet close, the Fall season will finally start to creep into our wardrobes, calling for chunky knits, darker colors, and boots of all sorts. Images of Spring 2013 will slowly fade, but once the holiday season is over, we'll be pleasantly reminded of every collection we fell in love with this past week.
So here's to enjoying Fall, and looking forward to Spring.
