The talk of the town stemmed from a Medieval-Dungeons and Dragons-inspired collection brought by the Mulleavy sisters at Rodarte. A now black-haired Jessica Stam opened the show to a following stampede of oversized fringed jackets, pants made of leather straps and metal grommets, whimsical yet edgy gowns complete with breastplates and wide belts, and artistically molded footwear. Anna Wintour sat front and center along with fellow
Vogue editor Virginia Smith, with superstar and Mulleavy friend Kirsten Dunst sitting across the way next to Emmanuelle Alt. Spring in Rodarte is definitely for the fashion forward, and not for the spring florals-only inclined.
Marc Jacobs, who presented his Spring RTW show the day before with his bold, mod stripes, changed it up for his littler line,
Marc by Marc Jacobs at the Lexington Armory. A burst of color - both literally on the runway, and on the clothes - got us thinking about wearing headwraps and skirts and scarves again. Mr. Jacobs designs in such a way that speaks to both the sophisticated and funky youth at the same time. Where else would you find Zosia Memet of our fave new HBO show
