Rogues Gallery's nautical story is rugged, yet urbane.
Rogues Gallery takes preppy sailor style and beats it over the head with Captain Ahab's harpoon. Covered on tastemaking fashion blogs from Fashionista to Selectism.com, the line has cultivated a passionate cult following.
Overdyed vintage tees form the heart of the collection. With woodcut fonts and nautically-inspired graphics, the tees evoke 19th century New England culture. My favorite features a vintage diving helmet that lends the tee a sense of Victorian futurism a la Jules Verne.
Demi and Ashton are hot on and off-screen. People points out the stylish power couple, stepping out in coordinated his 'n hers looks.
We know Ashton's boyish good looks could make any grown adult blush, but his style earns him extra brownie points. His suit pops against the bold color of his bright kicks and vivid tie. Cop his style with vibrant sneaks from Clae Collection in a rainbow of colors.
Not to give Ashton all the fashion credit, Demi's cute-jeans-and-hot-clutch get-up is simply awesome. If you like Demi's sassy quilted clutch as much as we do, take a peek at Goldenbleu's Audra quilted patent double bag. Like Demi's, it's tiny, black and looks great with anything -- although Ashton on your arm is a pretty good accessory too!
PopSugar style scouts one of our favorite trendsetters, Heidi Klum, when she stepped out this weekend in Dream Society's City Dress in Emerald. Known for her terrific fashion sense, Heidi shows that even while running quick errands, you can look fabulous and be comfortable at the same time. With the right attitude and accessories, the City dress can transform effortlessly from a Saturday coffee run to a night out on the town.
Dream Society designer, Ambre Dahan, grew up in Paris and dreamt of one day creating distinctive styles that would bring together the women of today's world. Inspired by this idea of a hopeful utopia, she created Dream Society, a collection with soft fabrics, comfortable fits, and pleasant colors that are elegant yet edgy at the same time. Ambre says that the inspiration for her whimsical style "comes from the women we want to be, the women we want to dress." Sounds like Heidi fits the bill perfectly.

Leyendecker: An LA-based collection with a New York state of mind
Leyendecker is one of LA's brightest rising fashion stars. The supremely modern line, designed by Lisa Guajardo and Jessica Moss, is sharp as a razor and timelessly chic in its no-frills approach to fashion. "We're anti-trim," explains Moss. "Embellishments come through functional details like seams, exposed zippers and buckles," adds Guajardo. An example of this form-as-function aesthetic? Leyendecker's awesome ankle buckle leggings, a must-have that flew off the racks when it appeared on Daily Candy.
Ashlee Simpson Rocks a Leyendecker Frock
Leyendecker, a name that's been in Lisa's family for generations, sounds exactly the way the designs look: strong, unidentifiable, complicated and a little hard to pronounce... and that's exactly the way Moss and Guajardo like it. Design details like curved lines, sheer panels, and architectural shapes play off of oppositions: feminine and masculine, sexy and modest, avant-garde and wearability. Call it "smart girl style" with a seductive edge.
Like their designs, the designers benefit from oppositions, as well. Guajardo, who studied fashion at Central St. Martins and interned with Todd Oldham, brings the dark edge to Leyendecker. Moss, a former stylist and fashion marketer, is all about pragmatism. "We knew that Lisa's edginess combined with my uber-practicality could create something great," says Moss. This winning combination lends itself to Leyendecker's understated subtlety and specialness. Clean and confident, Leyendecker designs avant-garde for the masses.

People magazine recently spotted Klum strutting her stuff in Cameo's floral print Shelly Dress. Paired with a waist-cinching brown leather belt and strappy platforms, Heidi is more than ready for her Cameo.
KaZuO: Check for hidden iPod pockets, headphone jacks and reversible pockets on each piece.
Imagine finding a huge closet of clothes that you absolutely love, but all of the pieces are two sizes too small. What's a guy to do?
Joel Knoernschild, designer and creative director of KaZuO menswear, found himself in just this predicament. While living and working in Japan, he fell in love with Japanese street fashion but couldn't find clothes he could wear. "The problem is, as cool as it is and as much as I like it, it's made to fit the Japanese body, not mine," he says.
Out of this dilemma, KaZuO (renamed K.Z.O. come Fall '08) was born. "There's a saying," Joel explains. 'Here we're corn-fed; there, they're rice fed.' It's a different body type. I'm making rice-fed fashion for corn-fed bodies." Based in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of Los Angeles, K.Z.O. fuses precisely engineered construction with minimalist design. Joel utilizes details like knife pleats and French darts to imbue his Japanese inspired line with a sense of high-end fashion.
Born to a German-American father (who brought Billabong to the US from Australia and co-founded Hurley) and fiercely stylish Japanese mother, Knoernschild draws on his international background for inspiration. The line is even named for his maternal grandfather, Kazuo. For KaZuO's Spring '08 debut, Knoernschild also turned to his experience as a music video director to create a military-inspired narrative. The collection, which earned him a coveted spot on Los Angeles Magazine's prestigious "Tastemakers" list, was designed in collaboration with Japanese designer Nozawa and was manufactured by the team that produces Paul Smith and A.P.C.

We're talking about fun and feminine ruffles that transform boring into beautiful. This season, ruffles are everywhere, from summer smocks to mini cocktail dresses, and even on simple tanks and mini skirts.

People Style Watch highlights "The New Blues" this month with a whitewash spectacular. Perfect for sunny seasons, People says, "When the weather heats up, put away the dark denim and opt for something light and casual in a chambray-like shade like Sophia Bush's Hudson jeans."
