1000 Mile Boot
Established in Rockford, Michigan, in 1883 Wolverine made the original boots that helped build the railroads, erect skyscrapers, and expand highways across this great country. A historic mile marker for the brand took place in 1914, when Wolverine introduced a footwear line called the 1000 Mile Boot?, setting the standard for durable footwear. Generations of American workers have come to depend on Wolverine boots for comfort and durability. First off, the speed of delivery was excellent. I would be happy to do more shopping with Revolve in the future. I've owned these boots for approximately 9 months now and I can confidently say that this is the best footwear I have ever owned. They have a wonderfully refined appearance without being too flashy and upgrade the look of a wide variety of different outfits. In situations ranging from casual to semi-formal, the Wolverine 1000 mile boots are a solid choice. The brown coloring makes them particularly versatile. As soon as I took them out of the box, I could tell that my new Wolverine 1000 Mile boots are made from high quality materials. The pictures here really don't do the product justice compared to the moment when you hold them in your hands and look at them in person. The brown model has a very pleasing depth of color. As the months have passed, the leather has taken on a worn in quality that in my opinion actually makes them look better now than when I first got them! I followed the advice of other reviews I read and ordered a half size down from my normal show size. I'm glad I did because the fit is just right. Over time as the leather has molded to the contours of my feet, the fit has become as close to perfect as is possible for a pair of boots that aren't custom made. If you have medium to high arches like I do, you'll want to insert some good insoles to insure maximum comfort, but once you do, they will feel incredible. I know these boots will be a treasured part of my wardrobe for years to come.
This particular boot gets a lot of positive reviews and deservedly so. These quickly became a staple of my wardrobe and it's rare that I find a need to wear another shoe. I've already had several people (yes even total strangers) compliment me or ask where I got them. They're just a classy, vintage-style work boot that you can walk around the house in all day and wear out on a date that night. I rock these bad boys with a pair of slim-fit jeans or khakis with a cuff. Even with a t-shirt on you're going to look good.I'm normally a size 10.5 - 11 and bought these in a 9.5 and they fit perfectly - snug, some wiggle room in the toe box but that's desirable. For reference, I'm a size 10 in my Clarks Desert Boots as those tend to run a bit large as well. If you can, I'd suggest finding a store near you to try them on (i.e. Nordstrom or some men's outfitter) so you can be sure you're getting the right size. Also, I use Bick 4 Leather Conditioner about once a week just to keep the leather protected and looking good. If you're going to spend the money to get this boot, spend the extra $10 to take care of it. Look at is an investment rather than another pair of shoes, because these can easily last you several years or longer.Excellent customer service from Revolve by the way. They answered all my questions promptly and I placed my order on a Monday and received the boots Wednesday. No scuffs, loose stitching, damages, etc. Very impressed.
Recommended to me by a friend, the Wolverine's are indeed a beautifully designed and crafted boot. As with some other buyers, I have really flat feet with no arches so I decided to get these half a size larger to compensate - this was a good move, it fits absolutely superbly. The leather is very very well oiled, so I expect these to last a long time. The stitching is top-notch. However, one issue that I came across (and this is probably an exception and not the rule) is that I found the wooden sole edging on the right boot to be un-uniform in its finish, i.e. the wooden lining ends abruptly and looks a little gnarly. This isn't too big of a problem unless if you inspect the shoe up-close. I am very pleased with the overall purchase.
These boots are the real deal, Revolve was amazing in the order process, the boots look and feel amazing on your feet. I have low to no arches in my feet, and these boots feel like walking on clouds, get compliments all the time, i think i may have to get a pair in black. Nothing wrong with these MADE in the USA (very important to me) boots. Thanks again revolve for your honest business demeanor, will continue to shop revolve.
After trying on a different style Wolverine boot at a local dealer, I ordered my 1000 miles. I received them about a week ago. The boots look wonderful and they are all Wolverine said they would be- however- there are a couple of things that everyone should know before ordering. Wolverine boots fit narrow. If your feet are the slightest bit wide you should order the wider width. Then you will need to size down anywhere from 1/2 size to a whole size from your normal size because Wolverine's wider width is a EEE and there is a ton of room in the toe area Also, the boots are a little heavier than the other shoes we purchase nowdays because of the stacked leather heel and the classic welt design. I absolutely love the look of the boots with chinos, jeans and even some dress slacks and I've had several inquiries about where I got them. If you're out for a classic looking boot that will last forever, I think you will be pleased with the Wolverine 1000 mile especially if you get the right fit.
